Identity and onboarding

KYC and eKYC Integration for Lenders, Brokers and Fintech Apps

RED SAG builds KYC and eKYC integration for NBFCs, lenders, stockbrokers, wallets and fintech startups. We connect your onboarding journey to the verification services you are permitted to use: Aadhaar-based eKYC through licensed providers, DigiLocker and offline Aadhaar, PAN checks, the CKYC registry, Video KYC, bank account verification, face match and document OCR. The result is one onboarding flow with clear consent screens, a decision trail for every customer and a back office for your KYC team.

The hard part is rarely calling an API. It is choosing the right method for each customer type, handling the cases where a check fails or returns a partial match, storing identity data in a way that meets Aadhaar and privacy rules, and making sure a reviewer can see why an account was approved. We design those pieces properly.

Everything is designed with the RBI KYC Master Direction, UIDAI's rules on Aadhaar use and the DPDP Act in mind. Your organisation holds the licences, registrations and provider contracts, and your compliance team signs off the final process.

What you get

Features we build

Aadhaar eKYC through licensed providers

Full Aadhaar eKYC is only available to entities permitted by law and approved by UIDAI, either as their own AUA/KUA or as a sub-AUA/sub-KUA through a licensed agency. Where you are eligible, we integrate OTP or biometric eKYC through your approved partner, with consent capture and Aadhaar number masking or vault storage.

DigiLocker and offline Aadhaar

For businesses that cannot use online Aadhaar eKYC, or as an alternative, we integrate Aadhaar paperless offline verification and DigiLocker document fetch, so customers share digitally signed documents with their consent.

PAN, CKYC and other registry checks

PAN verification with name matching, and search, download and upload of records with the Central KYC Records Registry (CKYCR) for regulated entities that are registered with it, plus other checks your provider supports such as GSTIN or voter ID where relevant.

Video KYC (V-CIP)

Video-based Customer Identification Process for RBI-regulated entities: scheduling or instant calls with your trained official, live photo and document capture, geo-location and IP checks, random questions, face match, liveness and a recorded, time-stamped session stored for audit.

Bank account verification

Penny-drop and penny-less account verification through your payment or banking partner, with name-match scoring against the KYC name, so disbursements and refunds go only to the customer's own verified account.

Face match, liveness and document OCR

Selfie liveness checks, face match against the ID photo, and OCR that reads PAN, Aadhaar (masked), passports, driving licences and utility bills, using your chosen provider or a mix of providers.

International KYC and AML

For US, UK, Canadian and Australian products, integration of providers such as Onfido, Sumsub or Persona for document and biometric checks, plus sanctions and PEP screening, with results fed into your own risk rules.

KYC back office and re-KYC

A review queue for failed or borderline cases, maker-checker approval, risk categorisation, reasons recorded for every decision, periodic re-KYC reminders based on risk, and exports for audits and regulatory requests.

How we work

From first call to launch

  1. 01

    Map your KYC obligations

With your compliance team we list customer types, permitted verification methods, risk categories and the providers you already have or plan to contract.

  2. 02

    Design the onboarding journey

We design screens, consent text placement, fallbacks when a check fails and the review workflow, keeping steps as few as your rules allow.

  3. 03

    Integrate providers in sandbox

We integrate each provider in their test environment, handle every response and error code, and build the data storage and masking rules.

  4. 04

    Test edge cases and security

We test name mismatches, poor photos, expired documents, timeouts and retries, then run a security review of data storage and access.

  5. 05

    Go live and monitor

After your provider's production approval, we launch, watch pass and drop-off rates per step, and tune the flow with your team.

Why RED SAG

Why teams choose us

Lending and fintech context

We build loan management and fintech software, so KYC is designed as part of the full customer journey, not a separate widget bolted on.

Provider-neutral

We work with the KYC providers you choose and can build fallbacks between them, so one provider's outage does not stop onboarding.

Careful with identity data

Masking, encryption, access logs and data minimisation are part of the design, and we are clear about what we can and cannot build without your approvals.

Direct work with developers

You speak directly with the engineers doing the integration, which saves time when a provider returns an unexpected response.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does KYC and eKYC integration cost?

A focused KYC integration with PAN, bank account and one eKYC or DigiLocker method typically costs ₹60,000–1.75 lakh. A complete onboarding flow with several providers, face match and a review queue is usually ₹1.75–4.75 lakh, and adding Video KYC brings it to ₹4.75–12 lakh. Per-verification fees are paid to the KYC providers.

Can any business use Aadhaar eKYC?

No. Online Aadhaar eKYC is restricted to entities permitted under law and approved by UIDAI, such as certain regulated entities, either directly as an AUA/KUA or through a licensed agency as a sub-AUA/sub-KUA. Other businesses can usually use Aadhaar offline verification or DigiLocker with customer consent. Your legal advisers should confirm what your organisation may use.

Do you provide Aadhaar or KYC licences?

No. We are a software development company. Your organisation, or the licensed provider you contract with, holds any UIDAI approvals, CKYCR registration and regulatory licences. We integrate their services into your product and follow their technical and security requirements.

Is your Video KYC compliant with RBI rules?

We design the V-CIP flow with the RBI KYC Master Direction in mind, including live interaction with your official, geo-location and liveness checks, and recorded, time-stamped sessions. Compliance also depends on your policies, staff training, infrastructure and approvals, so your compliance team should review the process before launch.

How do you store Aadhaar and identity data securely?

We store only what the process needs, mask Aadhaar numbers or keep them in a separate encrypted vault as required, encrypt documents at rest, restrict access by role and log every view. Data is hosted in India on your cloud account. This supports your obligations under Aadhaar rules and the DPDP Act.

What is penny drop verification?

Penny drop sends a very small deposit to the customer's bank account through your payment partner, and the bank returns the account holder's name. We compare that name with the KYC name to confirm the account belongs to the customer. Penny-less options that verify without a deposit are also available from many providers.

Can you integrate KYC for customers in the US, UK or Canada?

Yes. We integrate established identity verification providers such as Onfido, Sumsub or Persona for document checks, selfie matching and sanctions screening. Your compliance team sets the rules for each market, and we build the flow, webhooks, review screens and audit records around them.

Can KYC integration be added to our existing app?

Yes. We add KYC steps to existing web or mobile apps through a separate backend service that calls the providers, so provider keys and identity data do not live in the app itself. We review your current code and data model first.
