GST billing

GST Billing Software for Shops, Traders and Distributors

We build GST billing software for Indian retail shops, wholesalers, distributors and small manufacturers. It prints correct GST invoices, generates e-invoices with the IRN and QR code where your business needs them, prepares e-way bills, and exports sales data in a form your CA can use for GSTR-1 or bring into Tally.

Most projects start from the billing and GST engine in OverseePOS, the point-of-sale product we built and maintain, so you are not paying for a billing screen to be invented again. We add what is specific to your trade: textile sizes and bundles, supermarket weighing scales, wholesale price lists, credit customers with due dates, or several branches under one GSTIN.

Your accountant or CA still files returns and confirms tax treatment. The software's job is to make every invoice right the first time and to hand them clean data at month end.

Who it's for

Who GST Billing is for

Retail shops and supermarkets

Billing software for retail shops that need fast barcode billing, loose items on a weighing scale, offers and a clean GST summary at the end of the day.

Textile and garment shops

Billing software for textile shops with size and colour variants, cut-piece and metre sales, bundle and bale entries, and a different GST rate where the value per piece falls into another slab.

Wholesalers and distributors

Traders who sell on credit to retailers, need party-wise price lists, schemes and outstanding reports, and move goods that need e-way bills.

Businesses covered by e-invoicing

Companies whose turnover brings them under GST e-invoicing and who want the IRN and QR code on every B2B invoice without typing data into a second portal.

What you get

Features we build

GST tax invoices done properly

GSTIN, HSN or SAC codes, place of supply, CGST and SGST or IGST worked out automatically, reverse charge where it applies, and bill of supply for composition dealers. Credit notes and debit notes link back to the original invoice.

E-invoice IRN and QR code

For businesses covered by e-invoicing, the software sends B2B invoices to the Invoice Registration Portal through a GST Suvidha Provider (GSP) and prints the returned IRN and signed QR code on the invoice. Cancellations are raised from the same screen within the portal's time limit, with credit notes suggested after it.

E-way bill generation

When a consignment needs an e-way bill, the software fills Part A from the invoice, lets you add vehicle and transporter details, and generates the e-way bill through the GSP, with the number stored against the invoice.

GSTR-1 and CA-ready exports

Month-end exports split into B2B, B2C, credit notes and HSN summary, in a format your CA can upload or use with the GST offline tool. Purchase registers help your CA match input tax credit against GSTR-2B.

Tally export

Sales, purchases, receipts and ledgers can be exported for import into Tally, so your accountant keeps working in the tool they know. If you prefer, we can build accounts into the billing software itself instead.

Stock, purchases and credit

Purchase entry with supplier GSTIN, stock by item and location, reorder levels, customer credit limits, due-date reminders on WhatsApp and party-wise outstanding reports.

Offline billing with cloud sync

Counters keep billing when the internet drops. Invoices sync to the cloud when the connection returns, and anything that needs the portal, such as an e-invoice, waits in a queue and completes then.

UPI and payments

A UPI QR printed on the bill or shown on a customer display, split payments across cash, card and UPI, and payment links for credit customers through Razorpay, Cashfree or PayU.

How we work

From first call to launch

  1. 01

Look at how you bill today

We see your current bills, stock process and what your CA asks for at month end, in person near Tiruppur or on a video call elsewhere.

  2. 02

    Fit-gap and fixed quote

We show you the OverseePOS billing base, list what fits and what needs changing, and give you a fixed written quote for the changes.

  3. 03

    Configure and connect

Tax rates, HSN codes, invoice formats, users and printers are set up. For e-invoice and e-way bill, we connect to the GSP account you choose.

  4. 04

    Test with your CA

We bill real test cases together and your CA checks the invoices and the GSTR-1 export before anything goes live.

  5. 05

    Go live and support

We move your items and customers across, train the counter staff, stay close for the first busy days, and handle updates when GST rules change.

Why RED SAG

Why teams choose us

A working billing base

OverseePOS already handles counter billing, stock and printing, so your budget goes on what your business needs rather than on a basic billing screen.

We work with your CA, not around them

Invoice formats and exports are checked by your accountant before go-live. We do not give tax advice, and we will not guess where the rules are unclear.

No per-counter licence fee on custom builds

Custom builds come with source code. For hosted setups, the yearly cost is written in the quote.

Honest about off-the-shelf options

If a low-cost billing app already covers your shop, we will tell you. Custom billing is worth it when your trade has rules a generic app does not handle.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does GST billing software cost?

A single-shop setup on our billing base usually costs ₹25,000 to ₹90,000. Adding e-invoice and e-way bill integration, wholesale credit and several branches takes it to about ₹90,000 to ₹2.5 lakh. Fully custom billing with accounts starts around ₹2.5 lakh. GSP charges, if any, are paid by you to the GSP, and hardware is extra.

Do I need e-invoicing?

E-invoicing applies to B2B invoices of businesses whose aggregate turnover is above the limit notified by the government. The limit has been lowered several times, so check the current turnover limit on the GST e-invoice portal or with your CA. If you are covered, the software can generate the IRN and QR code for you.

What is the e-invoice QR code?

When an invoice is registered on the Invoice Registration Portal, the portal returns an Invoice Reference Number (IRN) and a digitally signed QR code. The QR code carries key invoice details and can be scanned to check the invoice. Our software prints both on the invoice automatically.

What is the e-invoice cancellation time limit?

At the time of writing, an e-invoice can be cancelled on the IRP within 24 hours of generation, and it cannot be partly cancelled. After that, the usual route is a credit note. Rules change, so confirm the current limit on the e-invoice portal. The software shows how much time is left and warns staff before the window closes.

Can it export to Tally?

Yes. Sales, purchases, receipts and party ledgers can be exported for import into Tally, so your accountant keeps using it. We test the import with your accountant's Tally company before go-live.

Will billing work without internet?

Yes. Billing, printing and stock work offline. Data syncs to the cloud when the connection returns. E-invoice and e-way bill requests need the internet, so they wait in a queue and complete as soon as you are back online.

Is this different from your POS billing software?

It is built on the same base. Our POS page covers restaurants and multi-outlet retail in depth. This page is for businesses whose main need is GST compliance: B2B invoices, e-invoice, e-way bill, credit sales and clean exports for the CA.

Who owns the software and our data?

Your business data is always yours and can be exported at any time. Fully custom builds come with the complete source code. When we customise OverseePOS, the licence terms for your version, including an optional source code buyout, are agreed in writing before work starts.
