Most of the React work we are asked for is not greenfield. It is a dashboard that grew too quickly, a component library that nobody owns, a Create React App project that needs moving to Vite, or a product team that simply needs another front-end developer for the next six months. We assign developers who are comfortable reading an existing codebase before changing it, which is what most teams want when they hire ReactJS developers from us: someone who picks up the code as it is and keeps shipping.

You can hire a React developer full time, part time or by the hour, or hand us a defined front-end build at a fixed price. Every engagement can start with a one-week paid pilot on a real ticket, so you judge the work before you commit to a month.

What they build

What our React developers build for you

Admin panels and dashboards

Data-heavy screens with filtering, sorting, pagination and charts, built with TanStack Table, React Query and a charting library such as Recharts, with loading and empty states handled properly.

Single-page applications

Customer-facing SPAs with React Router, protected routes, form-heavy flows using React Hook Form and Zod, and API layers that handle retries, errors and token refresh.

Component libraries and design systems

Reusable, accessible components built from your Figma file, documented in Storybook, themed with Tailwind CSS or CSS variables, and published as an internal package.

Front-ends for SaaS and fintech products

Onboarding wizards, billing pages, role-based views and transaction histories, where state, permissions and number formatting all have to be right.

Migrations and upgrades

Moving class components to hooks, Create React App to Vite, JavaScript to TypeScript, Redux to Redux Toolkit or Zustand, and upgrading to current React versions without a freeze.

Performance and accessibility fixes

Profiling slow screens, cutting bundle size with code splitting, virtualising long lists, and fixing keyboard, focus and screen-reader issues against WCAG 2.1 AA.

Seniority

Junior, mid-level or senior

Pick the level that matches the work. Many teams pair one senior developer with a junior or mid-level developer to keep costs down without losing review quality.

Junior

1–3 years

Builds well-specified screens and components under review from a senior developer.

  • Turn Figma designs into responsive, typed components
  • Wire screens to existing API hooks and handle loading and error states
  • Write unit tests with React Testing Library for the code they add
  • Fix UI bugs and small regressions from the backlog

Mid-level

3–6 years

Owns features end to end and works with little supervision inside an existing architecture.

  • Design component structure and state for a whole feature
  • Integrate REST or GraphQL APIs with caching and optimistic updates
  • Review pull requests from other developers
  • Estimate tickets and raise design or API gaps early

Senior

6+ years

Sets front-end direction and can lead a small team or a migration.

  • Choose and document state, routing, styling and testing conventions
  • Plan and run migrations (CRA to Vite, JavaScript to TypeScript, legacy Redux)
  • Profile and fix rendering and bundle-size problems
  • Mentor junior developers and set up CI checks
Quality

Common React problems our developers avoid

Server state kept in Redux

Copying API responses into a global store leads to stale data and a lot of boilerplate. Our developers use React Query or RTK Query for server state and keep global stores for real client state.

Effects used as event handlers

Chains of useEffect that react to other effects cause double requests and render loops. We derive values during render and handle user actions in event handlers, as the React docs recommend.

Unstable keys and needless re-renders

Index keys in editable lists and new object props on every render cause subtle bugs and slow tables. Developers are expected to profile before reaching for memo, and to fix the cause.

Inaccessible custom widgets

Hand-made dropdowns and modals often trap or lose keyboard focus. We prefer accessible primitives such as Radix UI and test with a keyboard and a screen reader, not only a mouse.

Engagement

Ways to hire

Four ways to work with our React developers, and when each one makes sense for React work.

Full-time dedicated developer

One developer works only on your product, around 160 hours a month, inside your tools and sprint rhythm.

Best when React is the main surface of your product and you have a steady backlog of screens, features and refactors for the next few months.

Fixed monthly fee, invoiced monthly

Part-time dedicated developer

The same developer every week for about 80 hours a month, usually half days or agreed days.

Suits a product with a small front-end backlog: a couple of features a month, dependency upgrades and UI bug fixes.

Fixed monthly fee for the agreed hours

Hourly

Pay only for tracked hours against tickets you raise. Hours and task notes are shared with every invoice.

Useful for a performance audit, an accessibility pass, a stubborn bug or reviewing another team's React code.

Tracked hours, invoiced monthly

Fixed-price project

A written scope, a fixed quote and milestones. We carry the estimate risk; changes are quoted before they are built.

Works for a defined build such as an admin dashboard from approved designs, a component library or a CRA-to-Vite migration.

Milestone payments against an agreed scope

Vetting

How we vet and assign React developers

Technical interview

A senior engineer on our side interviews every developer on the stack you are hiring for, covering the topics listed on this page, before they are put forward to any client.

Review of real work

We read code the developer has written, from our own projects or their earlier work, looking at structure, naming, tests and how they handle errors, not just whether it runs.

Practical trial task

A short task in the same stack, done in a real repository and reviewed like a pull request. It shows how someone works, asks questions and writes up what they did.

Matched to your brief

We put forward the developer whose experience fits your product and time zone, share a short profile, and you interview them yourself before anything is signed.

What the React interview covers

  • How rendering, reconciliation and keys work, and when memoisation actually helps
  • Separating server state from client state, and cache invalidation with React Query
  • Typing props, generics and API responses in TypeScript without falling back to any
  • Form handling and validation with React Hook Form and a schema library
  • Testing behaviour with React Testing Library rather than implementation details

The trial task

Build a small data table screen against a mock API: server-side pagination and filtering with React Query, a typed API layer, a form in a modal with validation, and tests for the main flow. We review it as a pull request, including the commit history and the write-up.

Onboarding

How onboarding works

  1. 01

    Call and NDA

A short call about your product, stack and team. We sign your NDA, or ours, before you share code, designs or business details.

  2. 02

    Profile and interview

We share the profile of the developer we recommend and you interview them. A match usually takes about a week, depending on availability.

  3. 03

    Contract and IP

The contract assigns all code and work product to you once invoices are paid, and sets out rates, hours, notice and confidentiality.

  4. 04

    Access through your tools

You invite the developer to your GitHub or GitLab, Jira or Linear, and Slack or Teams. You control access and can revoke it at any time.

  5. 05

    Updates you can rely on

A written update at the end of every working day, a weekly summary with hours, what shipped and what is blocked, and a demo when you want one.

The developer's first week

  • Run the app locally, read the folder structure, routing and state setup, and note anything unclear
  • Agree conventions with your team: component patterns, styling, test expectations and PR size
  • Pick up a small, real ticket and ship it through your normal review and CI process
  • Share a short written note on the codebase: risks, quick wins and questions
Time zones

Working hours overlap

Our team is in India (IST, UTC+5:30). These are the overlap windows we plan around; the exact hours are agreed in the contract.

United Kingdom

Our normal day (9:00–18:00 IST) covers roughly 9:00 am to 12:30 pm in London in winter and 9:00 am to 1:30 pm in summer. A developer working 11:00–20:00 IST can cover until about 2:30 pm GMT.

USA and Canada (Eastern)

On a shifted schedule the developer is online for about 9:00 am to noon Eastern (New York, Toronto), enough for stand-up, reviews and questions. Work carries on overnight and is ready in your morning.

USA and Canada (Pacific)

For California or Vancouver we agree a fixed early window, typically 7:00–9:00 am Pacific, plus written hand-offs at the end of your day. We are open that overlap is shorter here.

Australia

India is 4.5 to 5.5 hours behind Sydney and Melbourne, so our normal day overlaps your afternoon, roughly 1:30–5:30 pm AEST. Perth overlaps from about 11:30 am onwards.

Low-risk start

Try before you commit

Start with a one-week paid pilot

Before committing to a month, you can start with a one-week paid pilot. The developer works on a real ticket from your backlog, in your repository and tools, with the same daily updates as a normal engagement. At the end you decide whether to continue, change developer or stop. The pilot is billed at the hourly rate for the hours worked, and the code is yours.

Replacement if it is not a fit

If the developer is not the right fit, tell us and we will replace the developer at no extra charge. The new developer is briefed from the shared notes and tickets, and we overlap the hand-over where we can so you do not lose momentum.

FAQ

Hiring React developers: questions

How much does it cost to hire a React developer from India?

Indicatively, a full-time dedicated React developer from RED SAG costs about $1,700–3,500 a month depending on seniority, and hourly work runs about $15–30 an hour. The rates table on this page shows GBP, AUD, CAD and INR ranges too. Your exact rate is agreed in writing before work starts.

Do your React developers use TypeScript?

Yes. We treat TypeScript as the default for new React work and our developers are interviewed on typing props, hooks, generics and API responses. If your codebase is still JavaScript, they can work in it as it is, or migrate it gradually file by file alongside feature work, without a big-bang rewrite.

Can a React developer also work on our Node.js or Next.js code?

Many of our React developers are comfortable with Next.js and basic Node.js APIs. If your work is mostly server-rendered pages or back-end logic, tell us early so we match you with someone whose main strength is Next.js or Node.js rather than stretching a front-end specialist.

Will the developer work in our repository and tools?

Yes. The developer works in your GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository under your branching rules, takes tickets from your Jira, Linear or ClickUp board and joins your Slack or Teams. You own the accounts and can remove access at any time.

How quickly can a React developer start?

Usually within a week of our first call, depending on who is available and how closely your stack matches their experience. We would rather tell you honestly that the right person frees up in two weeks than assign someone who is a weak fit today.

What happens if the React developer is not a good fit?

Tell us what is not working. We will replace the developer at no extra charge and brief the new person from the shared tickets and notes. Starting with the one-week paid pilot also lets you judge the fit before committing to a full month.

Can you take over a React codebase another team built?

Yes, and it is one of the most common requests we get. The developer starts by reading the code, running it locally and writing a short note on risks and quick wins. Only then do we agree what to fix first, rather than proposing a rewrite on day one.

Can we hire dedicated React developers for a long-term product?

Yes, and most of our React engagements are monthly and run for several months. A dedicated developer works only on your product during the agreed hours, keeps context from sprint to sprint and joins your planning. You can move from full time to part time, or end the arrangement, with the notice period set out in the contract.

Are you a freelancer marketplace or a React development company?

We are a React development company in India with our own team in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, not a marketplace. When you hire React developers in India through us, you get someone we employ and have interviewed ourselves, and a replacement at no extra charge if the fit is wrong.
